Manitoba First Nations

Manitoba First Nations are Indigenous peoples in Manitoba who are members of sovereign nations with their own governments, cultures, and traditions. They historically inhabited the region for thousands of years and continue to maintain their distinct identities and rights. Many live on authorized reserves, while others integrate into broader Canadian society. They contribute significantly to Manitoba’s cultural diversity, economy, and identity, and work toward self-governance, reconciliation, and the recognition of their treaty rights and traditional practices.
