Manatees

Manatees are large, gentle aquatic mammals, often called "sea cows," that inhabit warm coastal waters, rivers, and springs. They are herbivores, feeding mainly on seagrass and freshwater plants. Manatees have slow movements, a rounded body, and paddle-like flippers, with a paddle-shaped tail for propulsion. They play a vital role in their ecosystems by maintaining healthy plant life. Typically, they are peaceful creatures, often seen surfacing for air every few minutes. Due to threats like habitat loss and boat collisions, manatees are considered vulnerable and are protected by conservation efforts to ensure their survival.
