Malvinas

The Malvinas, known internationally as the Falkland Islands, are a group of rugged, remote islands in the South Atlantic Ocean. The territory is a British Overseas Territory, but Argentina claims sovereignty over them, referring to them as the Malvinas. The dispute has led to the Falklands War in 1982, when Argentina invaded, and the UK responded by military action to retake the islands. Today, the islands have a small population and a significant British presence, but the sovereignty claim remains a sensitive and ongoing issue between the two nations.
