Malpighian tubules

Malpighian tubules are excretory organs found in insects and some other arthropods. They function like a waste filtration system, removing excess salts, nitrogenous wastes, and other metabolic byproducts from the insect’s body fluids. The tubules are small, tube-like structures that extend into the insect’s body cavity, where they absorb waste materials from the surrounding hemolymph (insect blood). These wastes are then processed and expelled out of the body through the digestive system as paste or uric acid. This system helps insects efficiently manage waste in environments where water conservation is important.
