Malolos Constitution
The Malolos Constitution was the first official constitution of the Philippines, established in 1899 during the Filipino Revolution against Spanish rule. It laid out the country's governance, creating a democratic republic with a president as the head of state, a legislative assembly, and basic rights for citizens. The document aimed to promote national sovereignty, justice, and civil liberties. Although it was short-lived due to ongoing conflicts and American occupation, it marked a significant step toward establishing Filipino independence and self-governance.
