Malaria RDTs
Malaria Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs) are tools used to quickly detect the presence of malaria parasites in the blood. Instead of needing laboratory equipment, RDTs use a small blood sample to identify specific proteins produced by the malaria-causing parasites. The test involves placing the blood on a test strip, which then shows a visual result—like a line or color change—usually within 15-20 minutes. They are valuable for diagnosing malaria in settings lacking advanced lab facilities, enabling prompt treatment and reducing disease severity and spread.
