Majoritarianism

Majoritarianism is a political principle where decisions are made based on the preference of the majority of people. It assumes that the views of the larger group should take precedence over those of smaller groups. This approach aims for democratic legitimacy by reflecting the will of the majority, but it can sometimes overlook minority rights or perspectives. Essentially, in a majoritarian system, the option with the most support wins, emphasizing the importance of collective choice in governance or policy-making.
