Major League Baseball postseason
The MLB postseason is an annual tournament to determine the league champion, beginning after the regular season concludes. Six teams from each league (American and National) qualify: division winners and the next highest-ranking teams (wild cards). These teams compete in elimination rounds called the Wild Card Game or Series, progressing to the Division Series. Winners advance to the League Championship Series (LCS), with the two league champions facing off in the World Series—a best-of-seven series to crown the overall champion of Major League Baseball. The postseason showcases the best teams' performance in high-stakes games, ultimately culminating in the crowning of the World Series champion.
