
Maire Gullichsen
Maire Gullichsen was a Finnish art patron and industrialist, born in 1907. She played a significant role in promoting modern art and design in Finland, helping to establish the renowned Finnish design school, the Arabia Art Department. As a leader in her family’s textile company, she supported innovative Finnish artists and creators, fostering a vibrant cultural environment. Gullichsen was also a co-founder of the Museum of Finnish Architecture and the Finnish Art Society. Her efforts greatly contributed to Finland’s reputation for modern design and architecture, blending artistic expression with industrial progress.
