Main Rotor
The main rotor of a helicopter consists of large horizontal blades mounted on a spinning mast atop the aircraft. These blades rotate to generate lift, allowing the helicopter to take off, hover, and move laterally. By changing the angle of the blades (called pitch), pilots control the amount of lift and direction of movement. The main rotor is essential for vertical flight, supporting the aircraft against gravity, and provides the ability to maneuver in all directions with precise control, making helicopters versatile for various applications like rescue, transportation, and sightseeing.
