Mahavira (Tirthankara)

Mahavira was a revered spiritual teacher and the last of the 24 Tirthankaras in Jainism, a religion originating in India. Born around 599 BCE, he emphasized non-violence (ahimsa), truth (satya), and self-discipline as paths to spiritual liberation. Mahavira taught that by following ethical principles and practicing meditation, individuals can free their souls from karma and achieve eternal bliss. His teachings continue to influence Jain rituals, ethics, and lifestyle, promoting compassion, non-possessiveness, and respect for all living beings.
