Magnonics

Magnonics is a field of research focused on using collective oscillations of magnetic moments, called spin waves or magnons, to transmit and process information. Unlike traditional electronics that rely on moving electrons, magnonics exploits these waves in magnetic materials to carry data with potentially lower energy loss and heat generation. This technology aims to develop faster, more efficient devices for data storage and computing by controlling and manipulating spin waves at nanoscale dimensions. Essentially, magnonics offers a promising alternative to electronic circuits by harnessing the properties of magnetic excitations for advanced information technology.
