MADIT-CRT

MADIT-CRT (Multicenter Automatic Defibrillator Implantation Trial–Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy) was a study that tested whether implanting a special pacemaker can help heart failure patients with weak heart muscles and abnormal heart rhythms. The device, called a cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) device, helps the heart beat more evenly and efficiently. The trial found that for certain patients, this device reduces the risk of heart failure worsening and death, improving quality of life. Essentially, MADIT-CRT showed that targeted device therapy can be beneficial for specific heart failure patients with electrical conduction problems.
