Madame Guyon

Madame Jeanne Guyon was a French mystic and spiritual teacher in the 17th and early 18th centuries. She emphasized an inner, personal experience of God through inner prayer and surrender, often called "quietism." Her teachings focus on cultivating a deep, contemplative connection with God by letting go of worldly distractions and striving for spiritual stillness. Although controversial at times, her ideas have influenced Christian mysticism and the practice of silent meditation, promoting an accessible, intimate approach to faith that emphasizes trust and inner peace over external religious rituals.
