"Madame Butterfly" is an opera by Giacomo Puccini about a young Japanese woman, Cio-Cio-San, who marries an American naval officer, Pinkerton, expecting a lifelong union. However, Pinkerton abandons her, returning to the U.S. and neglecting his responsibilities. Heartbroken, Cio-Cio-San waits in hope, but when Pinkerton's wife arrives and takes their child away, she sees the truth. Overwhelmed by grief, she chooses to end her life. The opera explores themes of love, betrayal, cultural clash, and the tragic consequences of misunderstanding and neglect.
