M19

M19, also known as the Long Steel Rail, is a standard gauge used primarily in North America, measuring 4 feet 8.5 inches (1.435 meters) between the inner sides of the rails. It originated from the early railway industry and became a widely adopted measurement for train tracks. This uniform size allowed trains and infrastructure to be compatible across regions, facilitating efficient rail transportation. In essence, M19 is the standard width for many railway tracks, enabling the movement of trains across different locations without needing different track sizes.
