
M. Visvesvaraya
Sir M. Visvesvaraya was a renowned Indian engineer, statesman, and educationist, born in 1861. He made significant contributions to engineering projects, such as building flood protection systems and irrigation networks in India, which improved agriculture and water management. He also served as the Diwan (Prime Minister) of Mysore State, helping to modernize it. A strong advocate for education and technological advancement, he inspired many as a pioneer of engineering and public service. His achievements earned him the title "Father of Engineering in India," and he is celebrated annually in India as Engineers’ Day.
