Météorites
Météorites are fragments of rock or metal from space that survive their fall through Earth's atmosphere and reach the ground. They originate from asteroids or sometimes comets and provide valuable clues about the early solar system. When a meteoroid enters Earth's atmosphere at high speed, it heats up and glows, creating a meteor or "shooting star." If enough material survives the intense heat and friction, it lands as a météorite. Studying météorites helps scientists understand the composition of celestial bodies and the history of our solar system.
