M-mode
M-mode, or Motion mode, is a type of ultrasound imaging that captures a single line of tissue over time, displaying how structures move. It creates a detailed, real-time graph showing motion, such as heart valve movements or blood flow, in a single dimension. This allows healthcare providers to analyze the speed, timing, and pattern of movements accurately, aiding in diagnosing various conditions. M-mode is often used alongside other imaging modes to provide precise information about dynamic processes within the body, especially in cardiology for assessing heart function.
