Mélanie Calvat (1831–1904) was a French Catholic nun known for her role in the Marian apparitions at La Salette in 1846. At 15, she and another child claimed to see the Virgin Mary in a mountain, delivering messages about repentance and the approaching end times. Her accounts contributed to a widely venerated Marian apparition, leading to religious devotion and pilgrimage. Calvat later became a nun and dedicated her life to the church, maintaining her visions' significance despite controversies.
