lymphoid organs

Lymphoid organs are parts of your immune system that help protect your body from infections. They include the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, and tonsils. These organs produce, store, and organize immune cells called lymphocytes that recognize and fight germs like bacteria and viruses. For example, lymph nodes filter harmful particles from lymph fluid, while the spleen destroys old blood cells and helps monitor for infections. The thymus is where some immune cells mature, and tonsils trap germs entering through the mouth and nose. Together, these organs work to keep you healthy by detecting and fighting disease-causing agents.
