Lymph node biopsy
A lymph node biopsy is a medical procedure where a small sample of tissue is taken from a lymph node, which is part of your immune system. This helps doctors examine the cells for signs of infection, inflammation, or diseases like cancer. The procedure can be done using a needle to extract tissue (fine-needle aspiration) or through a small surgical cut to remove part or all of the lymph node. The sample is then analyzed under a microscope to provide important information about what might be causing any abnormalities or symptoms, guiding further treatment decisions.
