Lung Tumors
Lung tumors are abnormal growths or masses that develop in the lungs, which are vital organs responsible for breathing. They can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Malignant lung tumors, known as lung cancer, can invade nearby tissues and spread to other parts of the body. Risk factors include smoking, exposure to toxins, and genetic predisposition. Symptoms may include persistent cough, chest pain, shortness of breath, or coughing up blood, though some tumors are detected incidentally. Accurate diagnosis often involves imaging tests and biopsy, and treatment options may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, or targeted therapies, depending on the tumor type and stage.
