Lung interstitial syndrome

Lung interstitial syndrome refers to a condition where the tissue and space around the air sacs in the lungs become inflamed or thickened. This can result from various causes such as infections, exposure to harmful substances, autoimmune diseases, or certain medications. The thickening impairs the lungs' ability to transfer oxygen into the blood and remove carbon dioxide, leading to breathing difficulties, cough, and sometimes fatigue. It is typically identified through imaging tests like chest X-rays or CT scans, which show characteristic patterns. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and aims to reduce inflammation and improve lung function.
