Lung Consolidation Imaging
Lung consolidation is a medical term used to describe a condition where parts of the lung become solid or filled with fluid, pus, or other materials instead of air. This can happen due to infections like pneumonia, inflammation, or other diseases. In imaging, particularly chest X-rays or CT scans, areas of consolidation appear as denser (whiter) spots compared to healthy, air-filled lung tissue. Medical professionals use these images to help diagnose underlying issues, assess the extent of lung damage, and determine the best course of treatment for the patient.
