Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE)

The Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) was a NASA spacecraft launched in 2013 to study the Moon’s thin, fragile atmosphere and the behavior of lunar dust. Operating in a low orbit, LADEE gathered data on the composition, density, and dynamics of the lunar exosphere, as well as how dust particles are energized and move near the surface.
