Luiseño Pidgin
Luiseño Pidgin was a simplified mixed language developed among the Luiseño people of Southern California during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It combined elements of the Luiseño language with English and other regional languages, serving as a practical means of communication in trade, missionary activities, and social interaction. This pidgin was not a fully developed language but rather a functional tool that enabled people from different linguistic backgrounds to understand each other. Over time, as communities shifted or adopted other languages, Luiseño Pidgin declined and was eventually abandoned.
