
Lucius Cary
Lucius Cary, the 2nd Viscount Falkland (1610–1643), was an English politician and nobleman known for his thoughtful opposition to the English Civil War. Educated at Oxford, he was a member of Parliament and later a diplomat. Cary advocated for peaceful negotiations and moderation amid political tensions. He also served as Lord Deputy of Ireland briefly. Tragically, he died during the war at age 33.
