Lucentis (Ranibizumab)

Lucentis (Ranibizumab) is a prescription medication used to treat certain eye conditions, such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and retinal vein occlusion. It works by inhibiting a protein called vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which can cause abnormal blood vessel growth and swelling in the retina—the part of your eye responsible for sharp vision. By blocking VEGF, Lucentis helps reduce fluid leakage and swelling, stabilizing or improving vision. It is administered through injections directly into the eye by a healthcare professional.
