Lu state

The Lu State was an ancient Chinese kingdom during the Spring and Autumn period (roughly 771–476 BCE). Located in what is now northeastern China, it was known for its strong local customs, well-developed culture, and notable early Chinese historical texts like Confucius’ Analects. The state played a key role in regional politics and diplomacy, often balancing relations with larger neighboring states. While not as powerful as some other states, Lu maintained its independence for centuries and contributed significantly to Chinese philosophy, especially through the influence of Confucius who was born there.
