LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam)

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) was a militant organization that sought an independent Tamil state in Sri Lanka, primarily due to ethnic tensions and discrimination. Originating in the 1970s, they employed guerrilla tactics and terrorism to pursue their goals, leading to a violent civil war that lasted over 26 years. The LTTE was known for its disciplined fighters, use of suicide attacks, and a strong political wing.
