LP (long-playing record)

A Long-Playing record, or LP, is a vinyl disk used to store and play music. Typically spinning at 33 1/3 revolutions per minute, an LP can hold about 20-30 minutes of audio per side. It's made of durable plastic with grooves that encode sound waves. When played on a turntable, a needle traces these grooves, translating physical movements into electrical signals, then into music you hear through speakers. LPs are valued for their high audio quality and warm sound, making them popular among audiophiles and collectors even today.
