Loyalist Corps
The Loyalist Corps were groups of Canadian militia and volunteers who supported the British Crown during the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783). Comprising loyalists defending British interests, they fought against the American revolutionaries seeking independence. These units included local militia and recruited soldiers from loyalist communities, often participating in battles and military campaigns. After the war, many loyalists relocated to British North America (present-day Canada), where their efforts helped shape the early communities and contributed to the development of regions like Newfoundland and Ontario.
