Lovejoy's Law

Lovejoy's Law states that every new technological or scientific breakthrough tends to generate new problems, challenges, or unintended consequences that didn’t exist before. In other words, progress often creates fresh issues alongside the benefits. For example, creating social media has connected people but also led to concerns about privacy and mental health. The law reminds us that innovation is a double-edged sword: each advancement brings both opportunities and new responsibilities or problems that need addressing. It encourages us to anticipate and manage these emerging challenges as part of embracing progress.
