Louis of Orleans

Louis of Orléans (1392–1407) was a French nobleman and a key figure in the political turmoil of late medieval France. He was the younger brother of King Charles VI and the leader of the Orléanist faction, which clashed with the Burgundians. Louis was known for his ambition and influence, but his rivalry with the Burgundian Duke, John the Fearless, escalated tensions, ultimately leading to his assassination. His death intensified the conflict between the Orléanists and Burgundians, contributing to the instability and chaos in France during that period, and was a precursor to the larger civil strife of the Hundred Years' War.
