Louis Kelso

Louis Kelso was an American lawyer and economist best known for developing the concept of "capital ownership," which advocates for everyone to have access to capital assets, such as stocks and businesses, rather than relying solely on labor for income. He introduced the idea of the "employee stock ownership plan" (ESOP), allowing employees to become shareholders in their companies. Kelso believed this approach could reduce wealth inequality and promote broad economic prosperity, enabling more people to share in the benefits of capitalism.
