Lotte Reiniger
Lotte Reiniger was a pioneering German filmmaker and animator known for creating some of the earliest silhouette animations in the 1910s and 1920s. She developed a technique where detailed paper cutouts were animated on a backlit surface, allowing for highly stylized and artistic storytelling. Reiniger is best known for her silent film "The Adventures of Prince Achmed" (1926), which is among the first feature-length animated movies. Her innovative use of silhouette puppetry influenced both animation and film craft, blending artistic craftsmanship with storytelling, and she is celebrated as a trailblazer in animation history.
