Lotka's Law
Lotka's Law describes a pattern in scientific publishing, stating that a small number of authors produce most of the research articles, while many authors contribute only a few. Specifically, the number of authors publishing a particular number of articles decreases proportionally to that number raised to about the 2nd power. For example, if ten authors publish one paper each, about one author will publish four papers, roughly one will publish nine, and so on. This helps us understand how research contributions are distributed within a field, highlighting the dominance of a few highly productive researchers.
