
Lothar de Maizière
Lothar de Maizière was a German politician who served as the last prime minister of East Germany from 1990, just before reunification with West Germany. He was a member of the Christian Democratic Union and played a key role in transitioning East Germany from a socialist state to part of a united Germany. His leadership coincided with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War era, making him an important figure in Germany’s reunification process.
