Lord Wolfenden

Lord Wolfenden was a British politician and civil servant best known for chairing the Wolfenden Committee in the 1950s. This committee studied the laws around morality, especially concerning homosexuality and prostitution. Its influential report, published in 1957, recommended that consensual adult private behaviors should not be criminalized. The report helped lead to significant legal reforms in the UK, including decriminalizing homosexuality in 1967.
