Lord Lovat (Simon Fraser)
Simon Fraser, known as Lord Lovat, was a Scottish nobleman and soldier born in 1667. He played significant roles in Scottish history, including participating in key conflicts like the Jacobite risings, which aimed to restore the Stuart monarchy. Known for his complex and sometimes controversial loyalties, he was a skilled leader and tactician. During the 1745 Jacobite uprising, he initially supported the British government but later switched allegiance to the Jacobites. His actions and negotiations made him a notable figure in 18th-century Scottish politics and military affairs. He was executed in 1747 for his involvement in the Jacobite cause.
