Longwave Radio
Longwave radio refers to radio signals transmitted on very low frequencies, typically between 150 to 300 kHz. These signals can travel long distances by following the curvature of the Earth, making them ideal for broadcasts over extensive areas. Because of their wavelength, longwave signals penetrate buildings and obstacles better than higher-frequency signals. They are commonly used for maritime communications, navigation, and time signals. Despite being less common for everyday broadcasting today, longwave radio provides reliable, wide-area coverage, especially in remote regions, due to its ability to travel great distances with minimal loss.
