Longwall Face

A Longwall Face is a section of underground coal or mineral mining where a large, continuous cutting machine extracts material from a horizontal seam. The face stretches across the width of the seam, with miners and equipment working together to remove the resource efficiently. As mining progresses, support structures are installed behind the face to prevent collapse.
