longitude and latitude
Longitude and latitude are coordinate systems used to locate specific points on Earth's surface. Latitude lines run east-west and measure how far north or south a location is from the Equator (0°), ranging from 0° at the Equator to 90° at the poles. Longitude lines run from the North Pole to the South Pole and measure how far east or west a location is from the Prime Meridian (0°), which passes through Greenwich, England, up to 180°. Together, these coordinates form a grid that precisely identifies any point on Earth.
