London, Midland and Scottish Railway

The London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) was a major British railway company that operated from 1923 to 1947, during a period when many smaller rail companies were grouped together for efficiency. It served a large area of England, Scotland, and Wales, providing passenger and freight transport. The LMS was known for its extensive route network, modern locomotives, and contribution to the industrial economy. In 1948, it was nationalized and became part of British Railways, marking the end of the LMS as an independent entity.
