London, Chatham and Dover Railway
The London, Chatham and Dover Railway (LCDR) was a UK railway company established in the 19th century to connect London with southeastern regions, including Kent and parts of southern England. It aimed to improve travel and freight transport between London and coastal areas, often competing with other rail companies. The LCDR built extensive rail lines, including important routes to Dover and the continent. In 1899, it became part of the South Eastern and Chatham Railway through a working agreement, eventually merging into larger networks, which helped streamline operations and improve regional rail services.
