London and North Western Railway
The London and North Western Railway (LNWR) was a major British railway company established in 1846, serving the northwest of England, parts of Wales, and connected to London. It played a key role in transporting passengers and freight, facilitating commerce and regional development during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The LNWR was known for its extensive network, modern locomotives, and contribution to the growth of industrial cities. In 1923, it became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway due to railway grouping reforms, shaping the development of Britain’s railway system.
