London and North Eastern Railway (LNER)
The London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) was a major British train company formed in 1923, responsible for operating rail services in northeastern England and parts of Scotland. It was created through the grouping of several railway companies to improve efficiency and coordination. LNER was known for its iconic locomotives, including the famous "Lner A4" class, and for running the prestigious expresses like the Flying Scotsman. In 1948, the railways were nationalized, and LNER became part of British Railways. Today, its legacy is remembered through historic trains and preserved railways.
