Logic families

Logic families are groups of electronic components called logic gates that perform basic operations on digital signals, like AND, OR, and NOT. Each family is characterized by shared electrical properties, like voltage levels, power consumption, speed, and how they switch between states. Different families are suited for different applications—some prioritize speed, others efficiency. Examples include TTL (Transistor-Transistor Logic) and CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor). Understanding these families helps engineers choose the right components for reliable and efficient digital circuits.
