Logic and Inference

Logic is the systematic way of reasoning that ensures conclusions follow from premises reliably. Inference is the mental or formal process of deriving new information or conclusions based on what we already know. For example, if all humans are mortal, and Socrates is human, then inference allows us to conclude that Socrates is mortal. Logic provides the rules for valid reasoning, helping us distinguish between sound conclusions and those that are flawed.
